MANILA, Philippines – Actor Enrique Gil clarified that there is no tiff between him and actor Daniel Padilla who has been vocal about his admiration for their “Princess and I” leading lady Kathryn Bernardo.

In a live interview with “The Buzz” on Sunday, Gil said he and Padilla are good friends, adding that he does not want to ruin that friendship because of a woman.

“I don’t want to get into anything muna. Gusto ko relax lang muna. Ayaw ko ng ilangan sa show po,” he said.

“Hindi naman sa hindi ko ipaglalaban si Kathryn. Respeto rin po eh. Nakita ko rin na very open siya (Padilla) so ayaw kong magpaepal. Ayaw kong magkailangan kami so para sa akin steady lang ako,” he added.

Gil also shrugged off their rivalry, which is being waged by their fans on social networking sites.

“Sa amin kasi nag-uusap kami, minsan sa Twitter nag-aaway ang mga fans. Ayaw namin ng ganoon. Gusto namin nakasuporta sa lahat,” he said.

While he is being romantically linked to his “Princess and I” leading lady, Gil said he is currently not looking for love, adding that his first priority after his family is his career.

“At this point parang I’m not really looking for something. I’m preoccupied with work. That’s okay for me right now kasi gusto ko may ginagawa ako parati. Kapag wala akong ginagawa, doon ako naghahanap ng something else,” he said.

Gil, however, said he and Bernardo remain close friends becuase they are together four times a week because of “Princess and I.”
