The National Capital Region’s wage board has approved a P30 additional cost of living allowance (COLA), for workers in Metro Manila.

Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board - NCR Director Alan Macaraya explains the additional COLA will be implemented in two tranches.

The first tranche of P20 will be implemented 15 days after they publish the new order while the remaining P10 will follow 6 months after.

With the additional COLA, NCR workers will receive an increase of around P900 per month.

The previous COLA of P22 will be integrated into the basic pay.

This will raise the daily minimum wage in Metro Manila from P400 to P426. – ANC Headstart, May 18 2012
